hey so my friends and i always used to go to this dive bar called scruffy duffys which is now closed. of all the "steelers" bars we've been to, it was by far the best. but the owners of scruffy duffys have a bar called landsdowne road which is on 10th and 44th I think. A lot of the old scruffy's people were there last night - and more than half the bar was steelers fans. it's pretty big, too. not the dive bar atmosphere of scruffys but not nearly as stuffy as the public house. plus we think that it'll probably be much more packed and fun during a day game. http://www.lansdowner...

Jen,
Thanks for the headsup on a more low-key place!

Did they have the sound on last Sunday? I watched a Steelers game at this bar in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn that some guy's website claimed was a great Steelers spot. There were a lot of fans, however they had the Giants sound on and the tvs were tiny!

I'll have to try out this place next Sunday. Anyone else game for a more low-key spot?

Patricia

Hey Patricia, yes there was sound! The front of the bar was playing other games as well as the steelers but the entire back of the bar was ONLY steelers and the sound was also on. Also, they have a dj playing songs when there's commercials on including the "Here We Go" song, etc. Seriously, it REALLY is a good place to go.

Oh, great! I'll definitely have to watch this Sunday's game there. I'm excited, especially with the Eagles loss last night (have a bet going with an Eagles fan). Hope to see you there!

I used to live in Brooklyn, so I've been there - Cody's Ale House! I really liked the place (good burgers!) but it's really small and gets pretty crowded.

I went to Daddy-O's in the West Village to watch our boys lose tonight. :(

Despite how the game turned out, it's a pretty chill bar that I would definitely recommend. It's not overrun with Steelers fans, but there were definitely a lot there. Nice, cozy atmosphere with just a few TVs.

Oh, that sounds like a cool spot. I live in Queens, and didn't make it outta the borough yesterday for the game. I found out that with the switch to digital broadcasting, I finally get more channels in with my digital antennae- including CBS. Too bad there's no way to get ESPN for next week, lol!

Try Hurley's on West 48th street...they usually give Steeler fans the entire 3rd floor with private bar and the sound is on. Beer/shot specials abound...
